| dont start a pc/mac war :whip: macs have their advantages in photo/video/graphics editing, besides that, using a PC has more uses. |

this is the new toy i bought today :)
the nomad jukebox ZEN :D
10 gig HDD player .. i chose it over the ipod because creative players have better sound, less digital rights management (did u know once u put a song on the ipod u can't upload it to a different computer?), and an easier interface...
not trying to start a war or anything :)
but very happy with my machine so far.... |

It's pretty much the same price as the ipod but is slightly cheaper. The 10gig Windows ipod over here will cost u AU$845, whereas the zen (my new baby) retails for AU$800. But I talked the salesman down to AU$679, and got a free remote :)
AU$800 is roughly equal to US$440... |

Really? I thought you could use the i-Pod as a portable HD for any kind of data. |
|

| ya i think you can do that too because the ipod shows up as a portable hard drive in 'my computer' when you plug in |

| Yeah I know but it won't let u upload MP3 files to the computer - only to the computer you used to put the MP3s on there in the first place... |

| im really interested in getting the Zen, i can still trade in my ipod to the store within a year, so i was wondering if there are any problems with the Zen, and does it last the full 12 hours? and how fast does it transfer from the computer to the unit? I noticed that it can use firewire, does that mean it transfers up to 400mbits like the ipod? or just 10X? |

I want an ipod so bad, if only they weren't so expensive...my work just started carrying them, and our demo already has Sasha-Magnetic North downloaded.
Let's just say I've gotten in alot of lately for not doing anything on the clock.:p |
