So I finally had a chance to listen to this thing in full. I wanted to wait until I could listen to it with Marta, so I saved it for a Sunday evening with a bottle of red. Really lovely set, one of your best yet. The flow and mixing were mostly superb, and there's so much quality deep melodic music in here. As we talked about on Saturday, you have a naturally relaxed flow - even when you play a few big tunes in a row you also seem to chill things out again quite quickly. Sometimes your sets are a little too "flow-y", but this one was spot on.
My only complaint is that you mixed out of the Guy J remix of Tuesday Maybe during the breakdown. I know you really packed the tunes into this set, which is quite impressive work, but in this case I just wanted to hear the full tune, being one of the big "anthems" of the mix. Other than that, no complaints at all. It also gained the Marta seal of approval - when you played that Dixon remix of Depeche Mode she went over to the stereo and cranked the volume right up. Top work. |
