They made a nice documentary because of the 25th anniversary of Bonzai Records.

Luckily for most here, they added English subs, enjoy:

Really nice, thanks for sharing Maurice! :)

You're welcome!

I think "nice" how I called it doesn't really cover it. It's an amazing documentary with a lot of info and background stories.
Also funny that Westbam and Marusha are mentioned. Both were very popular back then, but don't get mentioned a lot nowadays. So this documentary is pretty inline with my memories of that time.
Also cool that The First Rebirth was inspired on Jam & Spoon's work and even their name Jones & Stephenson (J&S) was. I didn't know that, but both The First Rebirth and Follow Me were and still are my personal favorites.

This is the video Charlotte de Witte is referring to at 51 minutes, crowd reaction at Werchter when she played Universal Nation this year. Shows it a little better:

Thank you for sharing this. Absolutely fascinating. This is one of those stories that just reinforces the notion that even if you are doing it all "seat of the pants" and on the fly, there is just NO substitute for being on the crest of a wave as it's forming. Much like Gates, Jobs, Woz, etc., at the beginning of the PC era. Other events/waves may form in time, but this one will never come again. Good on them for seizing the moment!

The doc was awesome, had my full attention for the whole hour. What language is Airwave speaking during his interviews Dutch or French? It's hard to tell because of his accent, I met him back in April in D.C. Such a humble dude. Cool to see all these legends used to hang out in a record store/studio like a family just banging out the hits.

Airwave speaks French (Phi Phi too). Actually even when he speaks Dutch (or better Flemish Dutch) you can hear his French accent clearly.
They guy a 49:50 is a Dutch guy, you can tell by the accent.

He really needs to stop playing Flight 643 at these live shows already, it's getting old.
