Hi, what is the difference between Minimal House and Deep House?
Thank you!
SYSTEM-J
Genres are seriously blurred these days, especially 25-30 year old terms like "deep house" where the music has changed so much since the phrase was coined.

My understanding of "minimal house" is basically minimal techno but groovier and less k-holed. Deep house is more traditional in sound and generally somewhat denser in its arrangements, but when you get to the really stripped down end of deep house, the differences can become negligible. I've heard tunes on labels like Poker Flat that could be described either way, and then they have chords in them straight out of dub techno as well.

If you've got a really simple deep house record, I doubt you'd get shot down for calling it minimal. It's not like 2007 when everyone on TA had to insist that "minimal" was some transcendental aesthetic philosophy being mis-used by the uneducated masses.

There's no such thing as minimal house.

minimal is just an approach to doing something, ur literally stripping the song down , but yet your still making it sound like a full track if that makes sense ..

thats where the true art lies, having the viewers attention & interest while doing very "minimal"

deep house to me is more soulful & jazzy stuff lot of influence from the urban.
