Adam Audio A3X Powered Studio Monitor - compromising the low end?

I will be working in a small space and can reference via headphones as well, and I don't want to get into a debate about the bottom end needing a sub to monitor properly. But I really want to go with Adam. I know the A5's have a ~50Hz response and going with these I'd be missing out with 10Hz of crucial low end, but will it really make that huge of a difference? They just have awesome reviews. I got a sign on bonus at my new job and I don't know when I'll have this lump sum of cash again to drop on speakers, but I honestly don't mind the smaller monitors.

heres my 2c - a 4.5" woofer is really small to me, they are ported which will give you the low end I guess, but id be inclined to go with a bigger driver
Then again if your room isnt treated with basstraps probably wont make much difference
depends on your budget and stuff - id save and buy just one good set and dont look back, otherwise you will just want to upgrade in a years time |
