Like the connectivity, but the fully maxxed out version will set you back...

I'm still considering a mildly warmed base model for the video stuff I do, but the reality is I just don't need it. I would imagine it'll sell more iMacs for Apple than iMac Pro's.
The halo effect.

3rd party (and most likely paid to be in the video) stand.

Could be, but I think there's a lot of places that will be happy to see the back of a tower or at least Vader's Trash Bin.
I think they made a sensible move putting that many ports on the back, although some video peeps are grumbling about no DVI/HDMI direct out but it's not like they don't already own the dongle if they're a mac user :toothless
At $5k for the base model, I doubt tehy're going to sell tons of them but what is interesting is that the base Imac pro model is 1.8 times more efficient with logic than a 4 core imac, and the 18 core version is 8.3 times more powerful.
Nice to see them doing audio benchmarks for a change.
What could be nice for those with too much money is using the imac pro with an existing pro for a node processing setup.

Well a lot of it is about NEED, especially at that price.
I know a designer dude that's just decided he needs the 10k level model. He's calculated that the render times alone mean that it'll more than pay for itself within 6 months, and that's a genuine need.
I'm not sure the same could be said for most audio guys, especially outside score.
If I were rendering a couple of videos a day instead of a couple a week, I might need one too.
