What are the best LAME encode settings for trance/house/techno?

I really need to encode some wave files of my tunes into mp3s but i want to know what the best settings to use are. i don't want to use lossless compression like monkey audio, it has to be mp3. i would like the optimum settings... size isn't really much of an issue but i would like to make at least a 40% saving on original wave file.
what i'm looking for here is a custom string i can use in razorlame instead of just picking the bitrate and pressing 'encode'.
can anyone help or recommend links?
Thanks

http://www.r3mix.net
bad ass site for mp3 encoding information
find the program RazorLAME (its a GUI for lame) and load the r3mix.net VBR Archive settings
most people cant tell the difference between an mp3 encoded with that and a CD (you can read about the testing he did on his site)
hope this helps |

| thanks, i forgot to mention it before but i need don't want to use VBR. i will be using the mp3s in a prog called AtomixMP3 and i've noticed that searching isn't that accurate with VBR. is there any other setting i could use? |

| use 196 kb/s!! I hear a difference between 128 and 196!! If you just have 2 cheap speaker than you can use 128.. |

Weird. I never seem to have problems with AtomixMP3 and the mp3's I've encoded. |
