Absolutely in my top 3. I would say #1 but I still haven't finished The Wire. :o
The Sopranos is definitely my top 1 in that list. And I have watched The Wire as well. I just can't get enough of the series... everything about it has pretty much shaped the entire modern television landscape as we know it.

Yea, i agree with Sopranos at #1.
I've watched the show like 5 times now and i still come back to watch so many scenes and clips every now and then.
I loved other shows like The Wire,Breaking Bad,Boardwalk Empire etc, but The Sopranos stand out in terms of value in each scene.
It should be noted that somehow it's one of the best Dramatic shows of all time as well as one of the best Comedy shows of all times.

I know it’s entirely irrational, but for some reason the idea of being buried after death is far more frightening than being cremated. Despite being dead, it’s hard not to personify the corpse decomposing in the ground.

I agee you shouldn’t accept anything less than a “sky burial”

Thank you for contributing to this thread, It means a lot . I know my spouse would like to be remembered for being the life of the party, not a cause for mope. Aries and Cancer, the risk taker and the home maker. I have considered removing my wedding ring, I’m also shelving some pictures.
The literature on the Afterlife is quite fascinating as it is novel in scientific circles. The work on Moody seems to be key: testimonials of an Experiencer from Texas, a woman who had an OBE, and was able to see herself laying in bed with doctors attempting to bring her back to life; recalling a misplaced shoe in one of the hospital rooms adjacent to hers. They found out there actually was a misplaced shoe next door, and other details she could not possibly know without entering the room or hallways. The ghost of Walt Whitman is also fascinating, since the testimonial comes from another person who was next to Whitman at the time of his death. He recalls seeing spirits attend his deathbed, and also seeing Whitman walk through the door after his death.
Unfortunately, current science abides to strict materialism. When the brain dies, so does the self. Theories of the consciousness surviving death are almost seen as heresy these days, in spite of Quantum Mechanics and String Theory.

I want to believe. Philosophers of TA, what on earth is Neoplatonism? It sounds absolutely ridiculous and new agey. Plato believed in the materiality of a Soul; an actual sentient form; often described as pertaining to that of a ‘Gas’ or ‘Liquid’ form bound by Kinematics. In other words, something that actually moves (up, down, etc) with a Force and direction. The description sounds like a Plasma of sorts. I get it, we only quote Plato when it sounds ‘rational’ to the materialist, which are the vast majority of those who control the flow of scientific and philosophical dissemination. The rest is left to us, so we go to church, mosques, synagogues, and temples where Science is neither welcomed nor encouraged.

obviously im not a subscriber but i am open to evidence that may be presented that suggests there's more to our existence than our physical selves.
there are some who believe that, for example, quantum mechanics may hold explanations/evidence for reincarnation- i had a chat with a guy a few months ago on another forum. i thought maybe he'd spent too much time taking drugs in india, but until that point i knew him as a pretty fierce critic of creationism, religion, anti vaxxers and other science chumps, so it was interesting to see a rationalist discuss something i had until then considered pure bollocks.

if the added discomfort helps you move on who are we to judge?

I would assume that whatever experience you have during death or NDE is colored by your beliefs.
We hold our beliefs so tightly that a lot of people would rather die than to give up their beliefs.
I think to understand death you have to understand consciousness.
To understand consciousness is bit tricky, it's like a fish trying to understand what water is :)
But it is possible to understand the self and what consciousness is. https://realization.org/p/top/people.html

I gotta say Federal Thrift Savings and FEP Anthem Blue Cross have been a blessing, specially now that I am contracting with a team in India, paying for my own medical needs would definitely hit my bottom line.
Tomorrow I have an appointment with my MD, getting my Provigil and Viagra refilled. I’m probably getting the clearance I need for my next job. Staying clean, productive, and focused. With this current DoD injection, all should work out in the end. Which means We could get the grant (highly probable) due to their initial acceptance and additional screening etc. I already have the team ready to begin working, all we need is a solid Yes (more paperwork) etc I am confident in our proposal and solution, so everything should fall into place.
