Holy !! They are playing in SF the night before but I just don't have the energy (balls) to do the 24 hour party trips these days. And all of sudden, this comes along. Tickets bought yo!

Looks nice, Party Animal. We should do a TA meet-up for this one, like the old school individuals we all are. :gsmile:

word yo! He's got this mysterious yet cool vibe to him. Not to mention great music. You don't get to see him perform here in the states so often. You rarely can find a recent live mix of his online (there are studio mixes but they all tend to be very experimental). And if you do come across a live mix, the quality is usually . It's exciting anticipating an upcoming performance.

sucks for west-coasters because Dixon/Ame/tale of us all these djs perform frequently in NYC and Miami. Dixon/Ame boat party in NYC was epic

and if they do perform here on the West Coast, are they really putting in their "effort". Historically, DJ's playing in LA are never playing at the top of their game. Very "meh" imo. I've always thought DJ's play a lot better in SF. The crowd is a huge difference.

100% accurate ive seen multiple djs weeks apart in NYC and LA and the NYC show absolutely s on what they played in LA

Agree but often the crowd is a big part of that; For instance, a few years ago I saw Carl Cox in Vegas at Drais and when i left the club at 9:30am it was abolsutely packed , there was still a line out the casino and when my buddy left at 11am it was still going for it.

Two days later Carl played exchange. He was basically playing the same music, doing his thing etc,but the crowd was just odd; Persian and armenian banker types in cheap suits with overdolled girlfriends who didn't care at all for the music, tons of randoms who seemed like they just stumbled in to the club by accident, and then a hardcore group of cox/dance music fans. By 2am the crowd was thinning out and by 3am when it wrapped up, it was only about 80 hardcore fans on the floor (in a club that holds 1500).

LA crowds often suck because the clubs seem to just be about the "show" and not the music, and often don't understand how to communicate to people who will go out to see a DJ.

Bingo! The LA crowd (and the promoters that draw them) have always been a big complaint. A DJ is only as good as their crowd allows them to be.

Getting some mad flashbacks to vanguard back in the late 2000's when I used to go. I moved out of LA back in 2009.

Vanguards History:

Club Utopia > Vanguard > Create Nightclub > "Factory 93".

Supposedly, Insomniac has some sort part ownership with the venue (they were involved back during the Vanguard days). They're supposedly renovating the place to give it more of that Warehouse feel and will be hosting their underground nights there.

Cool1G is the guy with all the EDM news so he would probably have more info.
