This whole in time I was taking fingers in the ass for no reason!
Well, no for "no reason". The Doc obviously has his own reasons :gsmile:

I've just had the most Vermont Friday ever.
I had a meeting at work with the head of the Centre for Cuban Studies and the head of the Centre for Italian Socialism in my university. I was surrounded by pictures of Che Guevara and Fidel Castro, while one of the professors talked about Gramsci. And, there I was, typing away my computer with a gigantic New England Patriots sticker on it. Needless to say, I stood out like a sore thumb but, hey, Bernie Sanders would be proud! :p
Completely knackered though.
“Nicaragua does offer high-quality healthcare, especially within the Managua region. The healthcare system is a socialized one in which people don’t have to pay for routine visits. In rural areas, though, the healthcare situation isn’t ideal. One good thing about Nicaraguan healthcare, however, is that Nicaraguan healthcare is considerably cheaper than healthcare in America. As a matter of fact, emergency care in public hospitals in Nicaragua is free. Free health care in America is unheard of. Nicaraguan health care is so cheap that there are “medical tourists” who travel to the country for the sole purpose of getting medical care. People in rural areas have the lowest access to healthcare and 43% of the population lives in rural areas. Some of this lack of access is definitely contributed to the lack of funding for medical professionals to work in rural areas as the Ministry of Health offers no incentives.”
“Buried inside the University of Vermont's Sanders archive is a series of 11 file folders labeled "Nicaragua," which contains Sanders' research and writing on the Central American nation. It's a staggering amount of paper—close to 1,000 pages—and the Nicaragua documents show Sanders to be a local politician with national ambitions who wanted to learn as much about a situation as he could, before reaching a moral decision and acting.
To recap what was happening in Nicaragua in the 1980s: a left-wing group, the Sandinistas, overthrew a right-wing dictatorship and the U.S. began supporting a different right-wing group, the Contras, in order to prevent Nicaragua from falling under the banner of socialism. Bernie Sanders, already an avowed socialist, disagreed with the Reagan administration's decision to support the Contras, which he feared could lead to a Vietnam-type conflict.”
Cuba and Nicaragua have now tilted to Tourism, Nicaragua is the safest nation in the Americas, and Cuba is undeniably the most developed in terms of Health care and Education; literacy. Now opening up to private industries.
Nicaraguans are not fleeing to the US, au contraire, Hundreds of Americans with pensions are now relocating to popular locations like Leon, Granada, and Vanderbilt’s infamous San Juan Del sur.
Filibuster Walker Declared himself President of Nicaragua and aimed to annex Central america’s largest country. The US has a long history of Nicaraguan imperialist intervention. According to a latest Bloomberg Analysis, Cuba and Costa Rica enjoy higher rates of health than the US.
Also, on the subject of spring, it's 23C here today, which quite frankly is a rarity even in summer in the north of England, and I've got the day off.

It’s my bday today. A few weeks ago I decided I should go in for a physical since I haven’t had one ever since my doctor retired. So I booked one up with my new doctor which would also be a first visit. Figured I’d make our first meeting super awkward by making him stick his finger up my butt the first time I meet him. So I showed up to my physical yesterday and we did the usual stuff. Blood test, urine test, weight, height , eye exam etc.. so we came to the end of it all and I told him “alright let’s get this over n done with. I’ll take off my pants.”... and he was like “whoa whoa whoa!! Hold up there Eric. You’re way to young to give a prostate exam to. We don’t start doing that until you are at least 40.”
I was like wtf!? “ my old doctor started when I was 20?!.”
This whole in time I was taking fingers in the ass for no reason!

i would've added more smileys but unfortunately my time is nigh :( hoping i can get away with just a PSA test, but given this cancer has decimated one side of the family, maybe not.
i remember joking with my dad a few years ago that i couldn't believe he was paying some guy to stick their finger up him. he said "why, would you prefer if i used someone who wanted to do it for free?".
fair call, dad.
