| Probably already Saturday for some of you progressive, Socialist types in other time zones, but I can't get a Friday get by w/out a Friday thread. The sun is FINALLY out in earnest after a weekend and week of soggy ass weather. Gotta work half a day tomorrow, but after that it will be yard work in a very saturated yard. |

, right? So happy to finally see some nice weather. Got an indoor bike trainer much too late to ride inside during the days but I'll have it going forward (it shipped on Wednesday).
The Kentucky Derby Festival marathon is tomorrow, going to ride my bike out there in the morning to catch my dad and sister in law running. My brother was going to do the full not the half but he cancelled last minute due to an ankle concern. He's doing the IronMan in October. What a maniac. |

I figured you guys had been getting some/part/all of this junk too. It slowly pinwheels its way through, then wraps back around. My rain gauge is busted, so I don't know how much we got, but the ash bucket/coal scuttle is full and running over. :eyespop: |

Today has been bittersweet. I've just taken my final step towards tenure (it's pretty close now), but I've also found out I'll have to pay income tax for the first time ever (this was also pretty close).
So these events pretty much cancel each other out and I'm just glad the Koreas are apparently getting along before Kim Jong-Un gets missiles that can hit us here in Brazil :p

Enjoying the sun with a nice wind with Turkey visable at the other side of the sea at 17km.
Best way to kill yourself here at Rhodos is at a zebra crossing as if looks like they are invisable to Greeks, same for traffic signs :)
They can't drive anyways as we almost had two accidents on one day while hiring a car. One time a Greek didn't use his blinker and one time while waiting at the front of a traffic light a busdriver wanted to turn around and started to drive backwards heading towards us. We couldn't drive backwards as others already were behind us, so everybody played their horn.
Now it makes sence why the average car here looks like the worst at home :D
It's a beautiful island which only lifes from tourism. |
