While the weather is still so perfectly warm and gorgeous, I can definitely sense the shift in the season. I absolutely LOVE this time of year - the change in the wind, the earlier evenings, the smells and sounds of late summer plants and insects; I always loved back to school time.
Anyway, onto the weekend! Floorplan tomorrow night. My first legit jam since having a baby. All done breastfeeding now so I can go out and enjoy myself without the mental weight of knowing I have to nurse the baby at all the next day.
WOO RAVE!!!
What'chall up to? |

My daughter finished her first week a secondary school. All new but it went fine. She was lucky today as it was pretty cold suddenly. A good rain shower just started after she arrived a school, otherwise she would have walked in wet clothes all day long. So I think it's time to buy a decent rain jacket now.
This weekend temperatures won't be above 20C, but next week it will be above again, so that's nice.
Football for the boys will start again soon, tomorrow a practice match.
Next to that some family visits and I'll watch some F1.
O, and the grass is growing well and turning green again, so I think I'm gonna do the lawn now :) |

I agree totally about this time of year. September and October in particular are my favourite months of the year. I just love the atmosphere, the change in the air and the light, the melancholic edge. For me it also has exciting connotations, as this is when the clubbing season in the UK really gets going. I've got a ridiculously tasty schedule of parties lined up this autumn, so I'm almost wanting the summer out of the way now.
As for today, I've had the day off work so we went to the seaside. It's a bank holiday weekend so I've got four days off in total. The aim is to get out into the great outdoors as much as possible. |

All the smoke has almost cleared out of Seattle. I can finally see my city skyline again!
might head down to the Underground for some Psytrance later... |

I spilled coke all over my laptop today at work. I'm so damn angry at myself because it had been 32 years since I last did something similar and drenched an old Speak'n'Spell in orange juice - so I was keeping a good record :p
I borrowed my wife's bluetooth keyboard and I can still use the computer, but it's not really the way God intended. There are keys missing, I keep trying to use the touchpad, the screen is too far away, I can see Satan smiling out of the corner of my eye, the usual stuff. Shopped for a new model, but computers all come with Windows 10 nowadays, can't say I'm thrilled to upgrade... |

I just had two weeks off, been on vacation, and now getting ready to head back to work on Monday. Not in the greatest of moods, but at the same time I enjoyed my time off as well.
For anyone living in Ontario btw, you definitely need to check out Prince Edward County. It's a bit of a tourist trap now but I still recommend it. We loved our stay there! |

| As far as summers go in the Southeast, ours has been a welcome relief to years past. We've had a lot of rain (the grass is like a shade of neon green), and we've not had any of those 7-10 100F stretches like we usually get. I spent the night at the cabin last night, in fact, and the weather was just perfect. I took the little 13" Zenbook and watched a transcoded copy of John Carpenter's "In The Mouth of Madness". It was...different. Enjoyable, but different. |

I went for a beautiful 18 mile walk today, test driving my six hour mix for the TA Mix Challenge. Really gorgeous late-summer day: golden sunshine, not too hot, perfect for walking. There's a 120 mile canal connecting Leeds to Liverpool, and it passes through some stunning countryside, so I just took a train up to a village in the hills and walked back down the canal all the way home.
There was one slightly hairy moment when I came round a corner on the canal and found a black bull stood in the middle of the tow path. I've no idea how or why it was there, and it seemed as baffled as me, and more than a little pissed off about the fact. When it started kicking the ground with its hoof like they do when they're about to charge, I vaulted over the nearest fence into a field full of cow and took a very wide parabola around it before I climbed back over onto the canal path again. I looked behind me and saw two cyclists and a walker coming to a stop as they realised it was there. I left them to it, but I do wonder how exactly the situation got resolved. Loads more cyclists passed me in the opposite direction for the next few miles, but I was too wrapped up in the music to bother hailing them down and warning them. Can't help but wonder if there ended up being a massive traffic jam of cyclists, all stood there wondering what the hell to do next. |

| Goddamn, Floorplan was incredible, as I expected. Exactly what I needed after so long away from a dancefloor. Absolutely relentless groovy, uplifting, and funky techno. Warehouse venue was perfect, the sound was amazing, and the crowd was friendly, respectful, and there to get down - really great vibes. My shirt was entirely soaked in sweat and water from icing my neck and back down to get some relief. I haven't worked that hard on a dancefloor in a long time. So ing good. |

| I was going to see them at Sub Club in Glasgow last weekend but it sold out straight away. Then it turned out they had to cancel, so it would have been a wasted journey. Still hoping to catch them at some point - they're one of those names where the stars have never aligned, for various reasons. They would have been great in front of a bonkers Scottish crowd. |

| Truly so bloody satisfying, and I think even better as a collab with his daughter. Someone in my crew said she was singing? I never ventured too far up front to know for myself, but I'm positive it was the vocal samples of the records they were playing. I knew and/or recognized about 90% of the samples, at any rate. |
