Haha, yeah, that's the sort of stuff I'm messing with a bit, but with more brit pop guitars and I'm waiting for a mate to decide if he wants to do the vocals every now and then.

I wonder if anyone would care about it, other than people in their mid to late 30s/early 40s :p

Ha, I don't remember their own thread but then the c0r wasn't frequented as often because the other parts of TA took up all the time (PF, DJ, MD etc). I've seen a couple, just had no idea Trance was still so strong in Poland.

It was the good old Po Polsku Ktosz?.

Wait, do you really mean there were more confederates here in Brazil than in Kentucky!? Heh, had no idea.

Is it because Kentucy (and Missouri) were sort of "Unionists with Benefits", so it didn't make much sense to jump ship? I always assumed Kentucky was "Team Confederation", but it would probably have upset the balance of power, from what I've read in these last five minutes :p

Urgh. I went out for a few drinks with workmates last night and ended up meeting a friend who was out with his new girlfriend. Jazz bar until 1am, back to mine, B2B on the decks, didn't go to sleep until 10.30am, woke up fifteen minutes ago with a raging headache and a wasteland of empty bottles in my living room.

This thread makes me want to get Kentucky Fried Chicken to ease the pain.

Kentucky was one of the border states during the American Civil War.[53] Although frequently described as never having seceded, representatives from 68 of 110 counties met at Russellville calling themselves the "Convention of the People of Kentucky" and passed an Ordinance of Secession on November 20, 1861.[54] They established a Confederate government of Kentucky with its capital in Bowling Green.[55]

Though Kentucky was represented by the central star on the Confederate battle flag,[56] it remained officially "neutral" throughout the war due to the Union sympathies of a majority of the Commonwealth's citizens. Some 21st-century Kentuckians observe Confederate Memorial Day on Confederate President Jefferson Davis' birthday, June 3, and participate in Confederate battle re-enactments.[57][58] Both Confederate President Jefferson Davis and U.S. President Abraham Lincoln were born in Kentucky.

Yeah so like I said, lots of idiots sided with the Confederates but we were never officially Confederates since most of us agreed with the Union.

Blegh. I think I've had KFC maybe a dozen times in my life, despite living here the entire time. Not only is KFC perhaps the worst fried chicken joint in town, but it's probably the only thing that people think of (besides bourbon and horses) when they think of Kentucky. Lots of other positives to this state besides the massive number of moronic Republican voters who vote explicitly against their own interests (medicare, tax breaks, etc).

I'm sure it will help with the hangover though.

To be honest, I feel so wretched that I don't think I can bring myself to walk all the way to the nearest KFC. I'll probably end up smashing a six quid curry from the terrible takeaway at the bottom of the road, if my stomach ever calms down enough to allow food in again.

Christ, is there no postmates in the UK yet? It was specifically conceived to bring you terrible food in the misguided notion that it will somehow help the self inflicted pain of one too many Jägerbombs.

I mean, Kentucky isn't really that far south tbh. We didn't even pick a side in the Civil War. We have loads of ing idiots who still side with the confederates though.

The weather in Louisville is only weird because of the Ohio Valley. We don't really get a lot of the from hurricanes or tornadoes or anything, so I'm not entirely sure what you mean. Are you confusing Kentucky with somewhere else?

It's hard to say at the moment. Trends are pointing to stronger hurricanes being influenced by climate change, but there simply isn't enough data to say for sure just yet.

I always consider it part of the south, mainly due to the "temperament" of the general population (not withstanding current company) and that you're right above Alabama and Tennessee which are about as south and I can possibly cliche.

Weird about UPS. I just checked and have over a dozen of these from the last year alone:

Weather conditions in Louisville, Kentucky, caused a disruption to operations at the UPS Worldport® hub in the United States. As a result, some shipments may experience unavoidable delays.

Maybe it's things like extreme heat rather than hurricanes? just makes we think you guys are getting pummeled every month.

Can't really talk though, we've basically been on fire for a year now. The medium sized ones barely make the local news anymore.

I think you can get KFC delivered by Deliveroo or Uber Eats these days, actually. I'm too hungover to even think straight. Although Nick is right - KFC is horrendous. I haven't eaten it for something like five years.

Ah, there is respite then.

Just smash a Curry and be done with it.

But for some reason, back in the UK, Burger king was my go to for the hangover. No idea why. That Whopper just hit the spot without the associated guilt of caning a Maccy D's.
Sushipunk
I was all about the kebab for my UK hangovers. These days I tend to crave eggs though.
