It is a good deck.. direct drive and is faster than the SA-600/XL-500II, and i think it even has the same motor at the PT-2000 which is in the current PT-2100 and 2400 series.
If its anything above US$90, forget it... |

| I have a PT-2400.. how does this compares to Technics to you ? |

Well i have a few turntables because i do have a lot of $$$ to blow..
so that gives me a good opportunity to compare them all.
My current M3D's 1200's are definately faster than the PT-2400/2410/2100, but they are close enough for something high-end and standard.
The top Gemini TT's are both very fast and reliable, which brings me to the point about the start up speed being the SAME than the Stanton STR8-100. I used a stopwatch (:)) and they did come to the same time for starting up to 33rpm. Though in the running torque, the Stanton is stronger and stops marginally faster. So the PT series is better than people realise.
But if you want it all, strong and fast start up and consistant speed, and are not strapped for cash, than Technics are the ones to buy! :D |
