Punchy kick and so on

Hey there,
I have had bad luck trying to create a decent kick. How do producers make punchy fat kicks nowadays? One example is Bicep - Glue. If you check the waveform of the track below, you will see the kick is peaking sharply at 50 Hz, while still having presence below 50 Hz, which seems very even. If I try to replicate these types of kicks, I cannot get this punchness despite attenuating the kick's core frequency. So what is it that helps create such results? Is it special plugins, clippers/distortions, EQs, what? If that's a bit of evth, then what would be the correct strategy of setting up these plugins?
Additionally, can anyone recommend me decent tutors (maybe music producers) or tutorials (paid or not), which can help me out with my musical hardships?

That Bicep - Glue kick is just your average Roland 808 kick. Compress it to fatten and lengthen the whooph. Layer another punchy kick to give it more definition. Most dance producers will layer several samples together to get the sound they want.

Vengeance kick samples.
50Hz is not where the punch is. That's sub woofer frequencies. The whoomph!
Learn side-chaining if you don't use it already so the kick and bass are not fighting for space in the mix.
But really the simplest way is to find an awesome kick sample to begin with. |

I know this is going to sound like a tip from Captain Obvious, but just sample the kick you want lol.
i've never understood why people want to build something as mundane as kicks from scratch. |

To the OP, RANN is correct. Today, it just isn't necessary. To many choices out there and you could have selected 1 out of 100 tones by the time you get through creating just one kick.
Essentially though,it's just a sine wave that is heavily processed. That is it and it is up to you to find the tone that suits you.

Although I agree with you, I can't forget the day that I was shown how a kick was made. I was like..."That's it? It's just a processed sine wave?" and it stuck with me. From that point I have been creating my own
Granted, I do not physically create them for every song I make as I now have a folder of kicks that I previously made.But then I hear a sample of a kick that sounds close to one that I made and I ask myself..."Why did I go through all that" |

Dope stuff! But it requires that I install Native Access, and how will it affect my *cough* cracked NI Kontakt? Not that I don't wanna buy KOntakt, it's just that it's not the right time yet... |

You dont need all that. Got a VPN? Vengeance sample packs have been around for years, I am quite sure it is easy to find.
