Finished watching and enjoying the Dakar 2019 rally (Peru), followed it daily as there were many Dutch guys with trucks, cars and motorbikes and one thing in common, all eating dust.
Really stunning truck footage in the desserts of Peru, those high resolution cameras are amazing:
No plans for the weekend, it's cold and wet.

I appreciate the Tri advice, Boomer. I was a competitive swimmer back a few years ago and I currently practice with the best masters team in the city. Running and biking are left more up to me though, we have local clubs but I've just been doing those 2 on my own. I'm really aiming to improve my performance after my Olympic Tri last year. I try to keep some maintenance strength training in my schedule. There is a lot to do to keep your body prepared! My brother did the full Ironman last year and he was putting in insane amounts of training. Hard pass! Maybe I can do a half next year but that's my max I think.
A full with new kids...nah. Go do Chattanooga waterfront in June, and stick to sprints. It stinks to be a fast swimmer for those, but at least you get out of the water not exhausted! IM Louisville was my first full, I am trying to map out my return. Maybe 2020.

When did you do IM Lou? My brother did it last year.
Also it sounds like you're suggesting I do lots of sprints Tris. I did an Olympic last year, I'm doing 1 sprint and 1 Olympic this year. Nothing against sprints but if I'm going to put in the effort to race it had better be Olympic or longer.

it was 2014. Back when it was held in August, so it was about 100F when I started the run.
Sounds like you need to race them sprints harder :p. Olys and sprints are totally different. Sprints have you red lined the entire time! Olys are a bit more endurance and pacing based. 70.3 is pure pacing and eating, and fulls are just a long day.

I wasn't intending to insinuate that sprints aren't worth my time, only that the length and style of an Olympic race is more suited to my preferences.

My team is going to the superbowl!

How old were you when you found out that TB-303 was actually a reference to the number of Super Bowl appearances Tom Brady would have in life? #GoPats

Yeah but would you have believed me if I had told you that one day Gisiel would marry a goat?
Was that a beautiful game! Just ask my tv. I was yelling and screaming at it the entire game.
