ok so i've been hearing all kinds of stuff about sound cards and stuff lately. so i'm wondering if that would fix this problem...

anyone out there use a program to make something then when its burned to cd or exported to like a .wav file it does sound the same as when it was in the program? i don't mean that its quieter or anything, but the sound isn't the same in tone etc. would updating my sound card and listening to it through better speakers help with this or how can i go about getting the same sound that i have in a program... more specifically fruity loops.

you mean like, you're arrangining a track litening to it via your soundcard, then mix it down, burn it and listen to it on a regulat cd player?

In that case, there's no real cure, 'cos the digital data would be exactly the same. It's just the DAUs that differ in sound and quality. Try listening to the same CD from different players, best would be through same speakers and amp... most of the time you'll be able to hear differences.

i think that a lot of it has to do with maybe the leveling of sounds in the application. i have trouble predicting what the levels will need to be on REAL systems so any suggestions on how to go about improving this. be it sound forge or whatever.

Do u listen to the track with the same speakers after u've burned it to cd?

If u do, it should sound the same...:conf:

Thats what i was trying to point out...

If it's your sound that sucks try comparing some tracks your track was meant to sound like trough your PC-speakers and try to adjust your system so the "reference track"...

btw.: it's a long way to find the right mix for your track.... just keep experimenting!
