I used to be obsessed with The Prodigy as a teenager. Obsessed. Sadly, their music doesn't stand up quite so much now I'm a grown adult. Most of the tracks I still enjoy most are the ones that showcase Liam Howlett's beatcraft and ability to twist samples out of recognition, rather than the blokey cartoonish rock songs. So this hasn't hit like it would if Howlett himself had passed away. But it is still, of course, very sad.

When I heard the news, all I could think was, "yep."

Not because I figured Keith was an accident waiting to happen, or that I suspected he was suffering from depression, or anything really. Just, I've grown so incredibly numb to these 'too soon' deaths now. Off the top of my head, we've also lost Robert Miles, Avicii, Pete Namlook, Gary D, plus tons more if you dig a little under the surface. And let's not get started on artists outside the frame of electronic music (Luke Perry died today as well, just as an example).

So when I hear of yet another famous person dying at a youngish age, all I can think is, "yep".

restraint. most of them live too ,,intense''. it's lesson we can learn from that sad news.
