I've seen Terry a few times over the last couple of years: once thwacking out hard-as-nails tech house in a basement bar, once playing a quite soft and textural set when he should have been thwacking it, and once warming up on his home turf in Fabric's Room 1. I love how at Fabric he's basically a palette cleanser for all the tourists and backpackers. I bet a lot of them walk in, hear him playing raw, uncompromising underground cuts and go back out of the door within an hour, so by the time the headliner gets on the dancefloor has been purified.
Haven't really dipped into his older sets though - I've heard a few snippets and thought they sounded good, so I'll try to dip into these at some point. |

Thats nicely said. I've never heard Terry Francis, but I had a similar experience last year in Tallinn, when unannounced dj CEM emptied about a third of the dancefloor by playing 45 minutes of almost unbearably hard industrial techno before Jeff Mills took the stage. I didnt really understand it at the time, but thinking about it, dancefloor dynamics definitely improved later on. Its like the people that were left were extra motivated to vibe to Mills afterwards. |

| Have loved him for years. Highly recommend giving Fabric 02 a listen. I still listen to it quite regularly. A true masterpiece and paragon of tech house. I would kill to see him live! |
