That right there, my long-distance friend, is a modern day Velociraptor. Exotic "pet" my ass. You cannot domesticate a fuggin' Raptor.
The cassowary is a "large, flightless bird most closely related to the emu," according to the San Diego Zoo. It can run up to 31 mph through dense underbrush, jump almost 7 feet into the air and is a skilled swimmer, so it can deftly fend off threats, the zoo says. |

I read about this yesterday. Good old Florida Man :stongue:
But yeah, Cassowarys are hardcore. I've seen one in person (in a zoo though), and that encounter left me with absolutely no doubt that they could you up. They're pretty impressive, really, and yes, definitely Velociraptor-like. |
