BT vs. Sasha- Remember Magnetic North
View this Thread in Original format
Paradox Lost
Been going through some of the old GDJB episodes these past few weeks, came across this mashup I had somehow missed, and now absolutely must have. But...

...from the fact that Google has uncovered nothing but set-rips makes it rather obvious that this is an unreleased bootleg, but does anyone know the background behind this one, and if it was ever released in some way? Or, even better, if anyone has a copy?

Ted Promo, I'm sure you happen to have an unmixed, high quality WAV copy that you would be overwhelmingly eager to immediately send over in the spirit of #TRANCEFAM, but it's cool, I think I'll try my luck elsewhere.

EDIT:

Okay so apparently this was remixed by Austin Leeds, or so I gather from one of refuge's threads posted allllll the way baaaaack in 2004.

Markus Schulz seems to play this every single year in his 'Classics Showcase' mix, it's nice but I got a bit tired of it. I have nothing else to add on the subject other than it makes me want to listen to that other famous Airdrawndagger-era mashup:

Tom Yelland
I thought Schulz made it? Very good bootleg for sure but yes, never came out.

Well turns out it wasn't by Austin Leeds after all. I have no idea who mashed this one up. Could be Schulz, though I have a buddy who actually had a white label copy of this with the producer credits on it, which he no longer has.

Of course he did. He kept it right next to his copy of "DJ Tiesto - Fly" with a picture of Tijs naked on the sleeve.

It's not just the on the sleeve; it's a picture disc vinyl so that when you play, it looks like Tjis is helicoptering your deck.

It was Schulz and his own mix

There are a few other mixes that are similar

BT vs. Sasha feat. Jan Johnston - Remember Magnetic North (Broken Toy Reconstruction Extended)
BT vs. Sasha feat. Jan Johnston - Remember Magnetic North (Mr Goodman's Remember Me remix)

The one that copies Schulz and likely the closest anyone will get
BT feat. Jan Johnston vs. Sasha - Remember Magnetic North (Andrew Gray & Re-Element Reconstruction)

Did you ever get around to posting this? Definitely interested in taking a listen.

And yeah, that was an especially helpful clarification- thanks for that!

I think this should a reference point for all mashups, not just stick 2 keyed tracks together from the beginning to end. Imo, regardless of who made it, it's really well done.
