Mixcloud will limiting free listening users and trying to force them in their subscription model.

I knew this was coming sooner or later. Soundcloud went to the ter several years ago. I don't know if it's greed or not but if former they maybe thought why not take the chance in this wonderful services subscription:whip: era. Everything from games, movies and music and their mom should have their own subscription service. |

| well that sucks. I don't listen to mixcloud often but they tend to have older mixes that i go back and listen to. |

| they have a pretty large library , often times i can find mixes from 2000-2010 that i loved listening to back in the day on there, so i might subscribe for that purpose, disney is coming out with their own streaming service soon to compete with netflix so that should be another amount to pay in the near future ..i wouldn't be surprised if some of these services start to come out bundled |

Seems reasonable, I would guess running a streaming service is extremely expense, from the hosting and bandwidth costs, to website maintenance. The limits for the free streaming aren't that bad, tbh, and it seems like it is either this, or it will shut down at some point. |

| Only ever use Mixcloud as an absolute last resort if a particular set isn't available elsewhere. Awful, clunky interface that still seems to get stuck buffering even on my high performance work PC. |

| Heard about this and it’s a bummer. I have probably 50 mixes up on my account there. Seemed inevitable though. |

Their subscription model doesn't seem to cover those accounts that upload a ton of older dj sets... does that mean they'll be taken down since it's not the DJ that posted it themselves?

I could be wrong, but I don't think greed is the driving factor. Sure, the folks that run the sites want to make money, but they also don't want to lose money, and they were probably losing. Ad revenues supplement, but maybe it's just not enough.
