The main thing we wanted to emphasize is musical Scenes, and the musical developments/Genres that emerged from them. Helped cut down on the clutter that micro-genres would create, especially if spotlighting such micro-genres were, as Ish' so commonly puts it, picking fly from the pepper.

Yeah, the map, in its current iteration, was finalized around five years ago, after which Ish' got down to the knitty-gritty of programming it. Things like Tropical House, Trap's evolution, and whatever cheesy bollocks Liquid Funk morphed into emerged in that time. Good news is the Guide is infinitely scaleable, which means we can add new genres in future updates. Felt it best to at least get something out there first, with a couple years buffer to see whether new sounds have staying power or are just fly-by-summer trends.

By all means, let us know what they are, and we'll look into them. At the very least, we can add them as samples and make amendments to existing Genres.

Brlgh. Chrome is being weird; the timeline moves depnding on zoom. Fine in Safari.
Starting to hate Chrome actually, does some really buggy . Is there any reason the site was made primarily for phone responsiveness? I would have thought it would be done for desktop primary and then phone secondary. |

It was initially coded for desktop, but more people use mobile devices for their casual internet browsing these days, so decided to focus compatibility on such devices instead. |

as someone who knows all about electronic music i still enjoy reading the opinions here and watching you guys be cunts to each other. i'll read most of 3.0 in a similar fashion. though he does sound more 'get off my lawn' now than the amusing mockery that i recall from the first one (or second- whichever one was the infamous edition).
a question i had tho- was prog trance a mostly 64-beat phrase deal back in the day or did i somehow make that up on my own? |

Some tunes maybe, but in no way was that any kind of rule. Whenever I mix ye olde prog trance I still count eight bar phrases like every other genre. |
