Yeah, I dig the Killing Joke failed comedian angle. Although I have read that was about the only inspiration from Moore's work. Looks dope!!

Jesus, we get Bob De Niro and Al Pacino, too?! It's like Casino and HEAT had a baby!

It looks well filmed and has all the elements but I just hope it doesn't devolve in to mobster cliche.

Apparently the reason it's getting an "indie" theatrical release, is becuase of changes that were coming to the oscars that Spielberg amog other were lobbying for (basically they were saying you can't just put a film out for a week in the theatres to have to qualify for the Oscars) but the Oscars resisted meaning netflix will qualify as long as they do a theatrical release, but it seems with this one, they're hoping the idue release leads to demands for major theatrical release which would permanently put the nail in the coffin for the argument.

Yo Rann, what about Jared Leto's Joker?

Didn't watch suicide squad so can;t comment but all I will say is that having known a girl that that was basically a bootycall for Jared whenever he was in town, and hearing numerous stories over the years, I'm AMAZED the #metoo movement didn't catch up with him.

Yeah I wouldn't waste my time, word is that it was a disaster. The only thing that sparked my interest was Margot Robbie playing as Harley Quin, damn she fine... :)

We (even the wife and kids) really enjoyed Suicide Squad. It's one of the few DC-related films that WB seemed to "get right". I think between DC and the Marvel Cinematic Universe we've hit "peak superhero," but it's obvious that Disney/Marvel have pretty much nailed it when it comes to whatever "formula" exists for churning fil after film that the general public enjoys AND do well financially. I'm not saying Suicide Squad is Oscar material by any means, but of the DC tripe that WB throws against the wall, that one stuck better for me.

Oh really? I guess might check it out once in a blue moon. I was just going by the reviews so I'm skeptical. Did you know there is reboot in the works called Suicide Squad without "the".

In any case, I would like to check out this flick...

I think it's definitely worth at least one viewing, yes. I'm curious about that Pitt movie as well. Anything with "space" in it gets my interest by default. I grew up loving astronomy and cosmology. We lived on one of my uncle's cattle farms when I was a kid. He had 165 acres in a rural area on the Cumberland Plateau in middle TN. We were outside of what town there is/was here, so with the lack of light pollution and the fact that the pastures had been cleared of trees all around our house, we could go out for hours and have excellent constellation viewing. We used to sit lawn chairs out every year and watch the Perseid Meteor Shower. Good times.

Awlll...that's what I'm talking about Zoso, must have been good times with the family. For me, I do wonder whats it like to view the night sky without light pollution especially during summer when the weather is nice.

We moved last month from one part of the county to another. We're now living in my late paternal grandparents' home. It sits on a 70 acre former cattle farm. We're "in town" now (I think our "city" population is only 2000-2500ish), so we definitely have more light pollution, but in a town this small it's not horrible. I let the dogs out around 5 AM to do their bidness, and it was 61F and clear, and I could see Orion, Taurus, and the Pleiades lined up in the east over one of our pecan trees. You can drive back to the rear-most pasture here and still have good, unobstructed viewing with minimal light pollution. So, yeah, first world problems. I got nothing to complain about, lol.

The best! I watch it every year since learning about it!

Don't get your hopes up apparently; The rumors are that for some reason, Pitt was completely disengaged/checked out during filming and it's resulted in them desperately trying to save the movie in the editing process and using discarded takes to patch something together.

I love just about anything space but given the medium is literally a void, you need some charisma to fill the gap.
