I have known of 2 people in my personal life to transition from MtF and both times they pretty much became a completely separate person from who they were previously. I'm aware that that is obviously the point, but I didn't care for either of the new versions of them. The first one became a typical angry blue-haired incarnation of the internet meme stereotype of feminazis and the second one additionally put on an extra 80-100 lbs of fat along with everything that comes with the body positivity movement (read: Obesity Acceptance).
Avana initially seemed to be aligned with trans/feminism acceptance/rights etc but left the forum too early to tell what she really became. I'm sure some people on here still know her or are friends with her, but she might be an example of someone who didn't really depart as significantly from their personality as the opposite sex. |
