For various reasons I stopped following the trance scene and dance music in general around 2008, then sold off my vinyl collection 2 years later. Now getting back into the scene and looking for recommendations for good quality trance/prog house/trancy-breaks I've missed out on since.
As far as I can see the best labels are still Lost Language, Perfecto and JOOF, so not much seems to have changed. Please give your suggestions on what else is worth checking out in terms of labels, artists and DJs. No cheesy/commercial/trance-by-numbers stuff please. Euphoric/hands in the air stuff is welcome as long as it's well produced.

I know this is a very bland, unexciting answer, but as far as prog goes, I don't think you'll find anything better or more relevant than whatever you'd find in a Hernan Cattaneo or Nick Warren podcast. Their styles are a bit different, but that works well, because between the two you should get a fine cross section of the state of prog in its current hotness from two of its leading lights.
I can't help you when it comes to trance, though this mix full of stuff from I'm sure no earlier than 2010 was recommended to me by YouTube a few weeks ago, which I clicked through just to check it out, and it wasn't half bad. I'm not sure if I'd listen to it again, but I enjoyed it just fine the first time around, so here ya go:

Based on the labels he's listed I doubt he wants actual, groovy prog. He probably wants the overly-layered trancey prog, which the likes of Warren and Cattaneo steer clear of.

Thanks for that, that mix is one of the first things that came up on Youtube for me as well. Got to say it's a bit to sugary for my taste, though it did introduce me to 'Forever Searching', which I love.

Thanks very much for the recommendations folks! Forsecape, Timewave, Cosmithex, etc is my kind of thing and of course you can't go wrong with L-Vee.
Yeah, I agree the trance scene is the best it's ever been. So much good stuff out there and the sound/production quality is that much more crisp, clear and refined than before. Not to mention the fact that vinyl popped, hummed, became more quiet as the needle moved towards the middle, became quiet with repeated plays, cost a packet, took up loads of space, etc, etc. Digital any day of the week!

Highly recommend checking out the artist Relaunch, his productions have a very muscular/electrified sound. I would check out his 2013 album ‘Two Minds’...favorite track of that one is Datenstrom.
Other favorites:
John 00 Fleming - Mustang (Relaunch Remix)
Relaunch - Area C Level 0
Relaunch - Far Away (EP)
Relaunch - Sleepwalking
Groove Park - Hit The Bang (Relaunch Remix)
Also, since you seem to like JOOF. His 2012 track ’The Fires Of Chameleon’ is still something I enjoy every now and then.
