Until a couple of weeks ago, I never owned a cell phone, smart or dumb. But all of the apps we are using at work now require MFA (multifactor authentication) for security reasons, so I had to get something. I got an iPhone SE second gen. It's not active on any cellular network, just WiFi only. Now I can take pics and send them to my Gmail for uploading. The end of an era...

My late paternal grandmother was an avid gardener. Roses were one of her favorites. This is one of the "knock out" roses she has planted in the corner of the garden spot. This was take just a few days ago.

The front yard, which is actually one of the smaller areas that I have to mow.

Kind of cool how when I went up north last month the trees were already in 100% fall mode, now Toronto is getting there, mostly there but your lot is just starting.

Very nice property and making me jelly.

If you have a Mac/book you could just message yourself the photos and drag them to desktop (via iMessage)

I drove out to the part of the county where we used to live yesterday to borrow a key from a guy. It's only 12 miles south, but I swear it was like 85% more autumn there, as far as color, lol. Crazy to see such variation in just 12 short miles, with no changes in altitude.

I've never had any modern Apple/Mac hardware. This iPhone SE is the first Apple product I've had since the Apple ][e back in the day. We had the dual 5 1/4" floppy drives, which was a huge deal. If you had a game on two discs, you didn't have to bother with the "turn the disc over" bull, lol. Those were the days...Mystery House, Fahrenheit 451, Amazon, and Star Trek: The Kobayashi Alternative!

Zoso, your place looks awesome. Totally understand all the posts about mowing now. That's a lot of grass :wtf: Super peaceful looking though.

Got dressed up for the first time in a long time today...the younger daughter is officially married.

Hi there! Looking good! Congrats!

JFC on a pogo stick, I need to clean that mirror! Holy hell. The wedding went well. They are both very much kids at 19, and I know the odds are against them, but I wish them the best and hope that they make it. The older one is engaged, and she and her fiancée are closing on a home purchase some time next month. Time is getting by. They were 2 and 7 when their mom and I got married, which sometimes seems like yesterday. I used to wear a shirt and tie to work at the bank every day, but once they relaxed the dress code for us in IT, I got over that really fast. Today was a good reminder as to why, lol. The weather was a bit too warm and humid, but it worked out really nice, especially given what a foggy ass show yesterday was!

PS, thanks for all the kind words and compliments about the farm. It is truly very peaceful here. I still feel like I am only a caretaker, as the three generations before me are the ones who did the real work to make it what it is today. Even though we've been here for just over a year, it still feels surreal to me. I keep thinking I am going to wake up and find it was all a dream. My goal is to keep it in the family as long as I am able. These small, generational family farms are becoming less common. Most people now have no desire to farm, and it's just easier for an heir to sell it to a developer who will turn it into a subdivision. And I get that...I'm not a farmer, either. But it's sad to see so much family history end with something so "sterile" as a subdivision. My brother, who is 5 years younger, is the other half owner of 65 acres here. He and his wife have a 3 year old son (they came to the wedding today, and that's only the second time I've met my nephew), and I hope we can keep enough in the family that if my nephew wants in on the farm action some day, he will at least have the option. Today kicked my ass, fellow COR wh00r3s, but we got it done, and all went well. Again, thanks for the kind words, all.
