I'll take The Rapists for 500.

That's "therapists," Mr. Connery. :o

it's crazy how bruce lee was born in the same year but died in the 70's. anyway, RIP Alex Trebek.

I didn't think of that, but now that I do, it's pretty amazing.

Trebek will always be associated with fond memories for me. The house, we are living in now for just over a year belonged to my paternal grandparents, and it's where I spent all my time as a child before starting school. Free baby sitting, in essence, for my parents.

One thing my grandmother and grandfather always did together was enjoy Jeopardy! in the evenings. My grandmother's formal education was only as high as the 8th grade, and my grandfather was one of those lucky enough to have graduated high school. But to talk to either of them (or to watch them play along on Jeopardy!), you would never have known it. They were two of the most intelligent and wide-read people I knew.

After my grandfather passed in 2002, my grandmother continued her nightly Jeopardy! ritual. I recall that during the NTSC to ASTC digital TV change, one of my uncle's helped sign her up for a Dish Network account. The first question and training issue with the new remote was to be sure how to find and watch Jeopardy! when it was time.

Unfortunately, years later, she was ravaged by dementia, and her preferences changed greatly, so Jeopardy! went by the wayside. But, for me, I will always associate the sights and sounds of that show, especially the voice of composure of Alex, as comforting memories of two of the most loved and important people in my life.
