The first DJ mix CD is a progressive house mix from Billy Nasty in 1993

Sasha & Digweed's Renaissance Mix from 1994 was the first compilation with multiple discs.
The cover art features prophet Zachariah from the Bible.

Billy Nasty (real name William Nastri) is a British techno and electro DJ and artist. He is a Guinness World Record holder for the first commercially released DJ mix

I don't know where their information comes from.

This is from 1989 for example.

I also got the sasha & digweed one from this interview. I'm not sure if it's a fact, alternative fact, or a half truth. Ben Liebrand was already making mixes in the 80's.

Sasha: I think ‘Journey by DJs’ had already done a couple of releases. But I think Renaissance [The Mix Collection] was the first mix CD that had been done with multiple discs and really beautiful packaging and a whole marketing campaign behind it. It was treated like a major label release.

According to this column that Harry Lemon8 once wrote nearly two decades ago, his "New York, New York" was apparently not released on Bedrock (as it was supposed to originally) back in late 2001 because sensitive (9 11).

I almost forgot prog content isn't only in english. nice find. Digweed must've been massively popular in 2001.
