Don't worry... i'm a nice guy.. i'll give u feedback.. ;)

i guess it's a pretty good track for a first trance track...
my first song was pure ...

Comments:
#1. Song is too long...
#2. Needs a more driving beat... beat is too simplistic
#3. Needs a better melody line...
#4. Needs more variety within the song... (unless if it was shorter... like i said.. 7 minutes is a too long)
#5. Barely has any build-up... and climax is weak

I know this MAY sound harsh... but my criticizing is gonna help you on the long run...

but my advice to u is: to get better at this, try taking one of your favourite trance songs, and try replicating it as close to it as possible...

doing this is purely for learning and if you manage to get something that sounds like the original, you've probably got the technique down...

as for the music part, always think this through in your mind: "Does this sound danceable?"
and also it's a good idea to always think out what chords are gonna be the backbone to your song... especially for melodic trance...

i'm not a professional or anything, but i hope these tips will help you become better as you move on...

just my 2 cents... hope that helped u

thx dude!!
i will work on it :)
i only got reason for about 5 weeks.. I still don't know everything about it :) but i'm learning.. :)

i will give feedback as well:)

i agree with most of the things kewlness said.. although i dont think the song is too long..just needs some more variation. the bassline sounds a little flat and is too simple. also the main synth could be a lot phatter, try layer some synths playing the same melody and add more reverb and other FX. i like that 'i love you' sample:)
build up could be better as kewlness said.
maybe you can add some pads to the song as well, to make it sound fuller..
anyways, its a lot better then my first attempt:D keep it up m8

I don't get it :conf: :)

thx for your feedback dudez!!! I wil try change the melody & the bassline & some other stuff :)
kewlness
pads are like several synths put together...
that's what they are...
also...

when i start a new song, i always do the chord progression, then i add drumbeat, then i add some melody and bass components... after you have a decent structure to the song, then you can start adding the "details" like the effects and like more variety in the beat... Finally... i listen to my song over and over again, see what's wrong and what's good, and edit edit edit edit...

i want to add some strings..
but when I add some they sound so tight.. u know.. not like in normal trancetracks :)
do I have to filter them??
what could i use?? :)
thx
kewlness
i don't use reason 2.0... fruity right here...
but i think the problem is the attack...

make sure the strings doesn't come in strong.. in other words.. turn down the attack... but this makes the strings sound a bit (i don't know how to exactly say this) not full... to counter this.. put a bit of reeverb on the strings to fill in the empty spaces..

if ur problem is not the attack...

then try playing with the equalizer a bit... i can't tell you exactly what to do here.. but if u just keep playing around you'll start to get some good sounding strings... also... if ur using like default string synths.. it might be better to try making ur own string synths out of scratch... or maybe use a pad or something...
