I know ofcourse about the turntables , the mixer ...but what else .. i asked alot of peoplebut it differs from one person to the other !! i heard that u should have a bpm counter , a seperate equalizer with alot of functions .. but the wierdest thing was that there is a device that would match the bpm of the tunes automatically instead of doing it manually ..i dunno about vinyls but i heard that there is such a thing with cds .. i need alot of help about the equipment cuz i'd like to start learning ..i've been practicing on softwares like traktor and atomix but i feel they are so amateur ..i need guidance on what sort of equipment to make the dj task as easy as possible live and eventually i would learn ...!!!

nope....i wouldnt recomend anything other than decks & a mixer.

anything like a bpm counter, or something that will automaticly match the beats is, imo, cheating as a dj.

a bpm counter can SEEM like a godsend, but you will probably become dependant of it, and if u have 2 play sum where w/o one, you will freak.

you probably wont need a seperate equalizer, cuz the 3 band eqs on ur mixer should be all u need. to me, anything more than a 3 or 4 band eq would just be a waste (the xone mixers got 4 band eqs)

2 help u learn... go to www.recess.co.uk
theres all the advice/tips i learned on
hey cheggy
Some headphones could help. Some records would also make the crowd enjoy the set a lot more. Or you could just turn everthing on and start singing.

that recess site is pretty good ... i wanted to know what r the best mixers and turntables out there right now with the best prices ofcourse and where can i buy it online from ?

everyone is going to say technics 1200's but if you want to save some cash go with vestax. Pdxa-1's kick but and they are seriously cheaper then techs.

2 Dex, Mixer, Carts + Styli, Speakers + Amp or a Stereo, Headphones and of course TUNES :D

well lets see here i have a bpm reader on my mixer and i dont freak when i spin at my friends houses on they're hook ups but that is also becuase i had to learn to spin with a dm-950 mixer but also a place i bought most of my epu. from is www.123dj.com and right now they are having blow out deals on most numark's and tech's but you should check it out its a good reliable site but may take about 2 weeks for your to some in and i would also recament that you start of small and maybe just hook your tables up to a tape recorder may not sound crystal clear but al least you will be able to hear yourself spinn from the crowds point of view :p

why has no one mentioned a compressor??!

This is ESSENTIAL...... one so you dont distort the outta the unamplified line and two so you have a clean steady signal..

They arent that expensive. And for those who DJ in clubs you will know what i am talking about. I DJ in a club and i have a mobile shindig. The club has one already and have a compressor hooked to the output of my 4 channel mixer before it heads to the EQ => Amplifers =>speakers.
