I think reflex is still open. one of mates accidently went in there one night, without knowing it was a gay club :haha:

Twickenham only has pubs, mainly cos of the money thay make during rugby match days. The twickneham people go to Kingston or Richmond, altho all they ave in Richmond is some nice bars.

Niteshayde, i take it u've been in Kingston for quite some time then?

I think McClusky's and the Works are owned by the same leisure company so wherever u find one, i'm sure u'll find the other nearby :whip: :whip: :whip:

There are a few other sothern TA's who are close by, theres one guy who lives in Staines called The SLy one, who DJ's at some underground clubs in central London, in London Bridge I think. but i cant remember

well, i personally think i've been here too long, but i dun really have a choice. i go to kingston uni...and well, this is my 3rd yr...so i've been in this town for 3 yrs unfortunately. i'd much rather be living in london...but ah well. i wasn't exactly intelligent enuf to be accepted into LSE or something.

hmm...i was not aware that works and mcclusky's were owned by the same company so to speak. but blah...they both suck anyway...haha.

turns out that both you and bortsta come to kings tun a lot for drinks. maybe we can have a small southern ukta meetup one nite...haha
Bortsta
Mondays all students pile to McCluskeys and on Wednesdays its the Works. The Mill is Ok but gets full of Kingston Uni students including one of my mates who goes there and drags me to the cheese room of the Works some Wednesdays. I'd definetely be up for Heaven if I was around for a bit of ferry and armin.i hope there's a decent GC night at Heaven in december when i'll be around.Oh well i'll just have to put up with Scream and Slinky for the time being..:D

Do you guys never go to any of London's acid techno events? Chris Liberator, Dave the Drummer, Rowland the Bastard etc are all from London and by the sounds of it play in small venues in London quite often, sometimes for free!

I'm hoping to go to Uni in London next year. Are these acid techno things hard to find or do yez just not like that music??

Of my 6 places I'm applying to 3 are in or around London, but a couple are a canny way out like. Before you ask - I am applying to the ter unis! :p

isnt there some crappy place called Backer's in Kingston or something? I heard it was quite pants :stongue:

even tho most of my friends are in Uni away from London right now, they will all be back for the Xmas holidays and we all meet up and go to the Tun. Unfortunately none of them are really into Trance and usually draag me to the works.

The ones that are still here also do the same :p

and Alex, small events are very difficult to find, they are usually out advertised by MoS eventss and crappy events at Equinox, the Hippodrome etc etc

do u guys have MSN Messenger? If so, my addy is [email protected], maybe we can arrange something!

:)
niteshayde
hmm...i typed a reply...but dunno where it went. but anyway...i think the place is called bacchus or something, but i've never been there and dun intend to either haha.

i haven't been dragged out to the works in awhile, and i'm quite happy about that cuz the only friend who does is generally away at uni in conventry.

yeah, i have msn messenger, but i am online on icq and aim daily if you have that. if not...my email addy is [email protected]...so i'll go online now on msn and see if you're there...
Bortsta
dj_mdma -Its called Bacchus. It isn't great but at least its not a "chain" club like the Works and McCluskeys

evil_bastard -there are quite a few of that sort of event in the Brixton area..

My messenger name is [email protected] if anyone wants it...

Does the city not have some free listings magazine or something to find these smaller parties for techno etc?

It seems the London TA's have finally come out of the woodwork!
niteshayde
i dun think small events are hard to come by...but they are difficult to discover...unless you happen to be around that area and picked up some flyers or something. i'm not into acid techno...so i have no idea where to look for events like that...but i'd agree with brixton...brixton seems to welcome all sorts of music...and perhaps camden?

yeah all 3 of them! :p

Mixmag use to have a lotta listings , and wihtin them there were some small venues. Nowadays, u have to know where and when the events take place.

Camden will be a good resource to pick up flyers, but not many venues, as there don't seem to be many. Brixton has quite a few cafe/clubby places that open early in the morning to cope with the nighlife that as come from the big clubs.

Bortsta
Cyberdog in Camden is a pretty good place to get flyers as well as overpriced rave wear :D

Also look in good independent record shops. They'll be full of flyers and listings magazines.
