Me and a few friends are planning on running a series of nights in Portsmouth. The music will be trance, in the variety of Armin, Corsten, ie Dutch Sounding, with a strong music policy of structured sets and a building theme to the night, and obviously, no cheese!
Times would only be from 9pm-2am in the beginning, and it will be held on a week night, monday right through to thursday, as its cheaper to get venues. Obviously, if they become successful, then weekend nights can be approached in the future.
DJs on the night will be me or my friend Matt (Residents), plus 1 guest, who could well be other DJ friends, or bigger names like Darren Christian (semi-confirmed as interested and willing), Bjammin and others, possibly even Graham Gold.
I have other ideas further forward, like a real classics night (Oakenfold style trance from the 95ish period, up to the Gatecrasher 99 era), plus showcase nights to get exposure for up and coming DJs (ie 4-6 hour sets from 1 DJ, plus trying to get local and national music press to come down and review).
Please note i am very serious about this, all the organisers are, and i have a sound system already easily available...up to 50k as well, incase i need to host the outdoors arena at Creamfields one year . Please respond with critisism, ideas, confirmations etc. Thanks for reading.
