Has Tiesto turned into Oakey???

Now that Tiesto is number one, it seems everyone is flaming him more and more. Oakey continues to get flack from everyone, although he was once a number one DJ. It just seems to me that ever since Tiesto started gaining more popularity, more and more people seem to lose faith in him. This is a trend that will be going on forever. Everyone expects these DJ's/prouducers to put out mint songs/remixes everytime out. They're human just like us. The one point I'm trying to make is that just because someone is popular, it doesn't mean you should dislike. or like them for that matter. Your opinion is yours and no one elses. Just my thoughts ATM.

| Tiesto is a Oakenfold wanna be, anybody who disagrees isnt to tuned in, every body knows he is, but thats not a bad thing for his fans as Oakenfold was king in 99 and if some-one copied him then it was cool. |

| I dont really think Tiesto is the next Oakenfold because Oakenfold changed from trance to commercial producing records for the masses to make as much money as he can however Tiesto seems to be going for a more progressive sound, not the same way Oakenfold did |

That's a good way to look at Tiësto. It's kind of true in a way. Anyway I can understand people not liking Tiësto now as they did in, say, '99 or '00. He changed alot. There's no denying of that, but I don't find it bad or something. I kind of like the 'new' Tiësto. Ofcourse he has his ups and downs, every DJ has that, but overall I think he's doing a great job. But I can understand when people don't like him nowadays. |

Now yes, but in 99 he was the king of the jungle. He was the biggest birtha out there and no-one will ever match his sucess in that year, his fan size was just sick and wrong. |

thats because digweed is still the worlds best DJ for playing cutting edge dance music, for being there from the start, for week after week being comitted to dance music and to try and discover new sub genres, his mixing is 100% perfect everytime.
instead of playing comerical cheese, changing genre because its popular, trying to be a celeb etc etc
yes tiesto + oakie are both wankers |

does it make sense to some of you that people have to change. i am not contradicting or agreeing with with any of the tijs-oakie wanker statements (because, honestly, this is a stupid discussion in the first place but i feel i need to make a point here.), but just think about this for a second. have you ever heard s&d's renaissance: the mix collection? have your hard them in the last few years? the style is completely different. oakey did just the same and the fact that he is doing more commercial stuff doesn't automatically pin him down as a sellout. maybe he just wants to do something different... would you like to go though a career doing the exact same ing thing day-in and day-out? i know i wouldn't; it would get boring. he's moved on and so many people's response to this is something along the lines of: "oakenfold is a selout wanker." before you go and judge people so harshly, wise up. what you read in magazines and on 'trance websites' is not always true and is often-times biased. and if you honestly think oakey is a wanker and a sellout at least respect him for what he's done for trance music and untimately, each of our lives. how can you argue with his essential mix from ibiza in 99? its ing beautiful. the stuff he puts out now may not be to your liking but someone else may like it. its almost like saying all rappers are sellouts cuz they are popular and you dont like the music they make. brian transeau produces for britney spears and n'sync and no ones calling him a sellout - hes way more involved in the pop scene than oakie yet oakie gets all the . you gotta be more open-minded sometimes and just deal with someone else's chice to change. posting bitter threads on a message board is ing useless.

this thread sucks....Tiesto's latest remixes have all been mint. Roc Project-Never, Sinead O'Connor-Tears from the Moon. Junkie XL-Breezer.
And not to mention he did the most memorable set of the year (Dutch Dimension) and the most memorable remix (Southern Sun).
Oakey cannot be even compared to Tiesto right now, Tiesto is so above him it's not even funny. |
