How much would you pay for your favorite records? (pg. 2)

My youtube channel is full of very very expensive white labels, acetates. I have spent three figures on several occassions to get some of these. I am not arsed about the cost quite honestly as most people seem to be with records.

I would easily pay £1000+ for the acetates of Lex - Vertical Horizon or the Rojam ID

My most expensive to date however was this.

That's cray cray. You know you can d/l the full version of Lex - Vertical Horizon (most probably remade by someone other than the artist) and make an acetate yourself for much cheaper than that.

Been there done that, i want the real one.

Edit - This is the cut I made for a vinyl only livestream of oakey classics.

I think my limit would be around 80 EUR, and it would have to be an album and something very special to me. None of the dance music I know comes close to being that special. I can somewhat understand the appeal of owning, say, Northern Exposure, but I wouldn't buy it myself anymore. I can spend that money in a way that benefits the artists and get way more physical copies rather than a possibly warped "classic" I'll immediately rip to wav or flac anyway.

Just got https://www.discogs.com/release/198...Out-Of-The-Blue in the mail, which I've spent about $130.61 on. I think this is by far the most I've ever payed for a record and likely the most I ever will. It was also probably my most wanted record, which I've mentioned in the beginning of this thread.

I've paid more than 100 EUR for releases from three artists

Sandwell District
Aphex Twin
Drexciya

I couldn't imagine spending this money on something heard in a trance set from 1999 that could end up on BEST OF ULTRA TRANCE cd compilation.

Second most I've spent was $49 for Universal Indicator Red nearly a year ago.

Considering the type of music you post on TA, you're pretty smart and frugal.

Thanks

Hey guys, so is purchasing vinyl tunes a thing because vinyl produces better sound quality than digital? Or, is it simply just a collection/geeky thing?

i've heard arguments that vinyl sounds way better than digital, in the same sense that high quality film is richer than digital videography/photography
