Why does it seem every week in 2025 has like a month's worth of "news" compared to 2000?

Definitely a combination of us getting older and the state of the media/world today :wtf::stongue:

These stupid tariffs lately lol - I'm lucky I was able to get the brake pads/rotors I needed to service my car before the US/EU tariffs kicked in. There was no issue with stock in Feb compared to now

I think it's just the general increase in bull.

The weird thing about making pop punk in a home studio on a Friday night is that, yes, there's the fact that I'm twice the age I was when I first considered doing it (but didn't have the wherewithal to pull it off), but there's also the fact that it's perfectly possible to do it on your own these days. It's also much more feasible than making electronic music because I can just sit down at the piano and come up with the melodies, whereas I gave up making drum'n'bass for the time being because by the time I'd loaded up all the plug-ins, adult life beckoned me back to my responsibilities.

Also, the irony of me singing about sticking to the man when I'm pretty much the man is not lost on me :p

Several months later and it even sucks more like it all starts over again :whip:

Helping out my wife move stuff out of her hair studio for some renovations on Friday night. Heading to Cabo, MX for vacation with the family.

Rufus du Sol this weekend at the Rose Bowl. For the unfamiliar, the Rose Bowl is HUGE, usually hosting college football games, concerts and various events. Not a big fan of RdS but my wife and friends enjoy them. We saw them at the Hollywood Bowl a few years ago and I think I may have been the only person sitting in my seat.

Yeah lots of my friends love 'em too. Not for me but I appreciate what they do.

Friday night I went to see Kornel Kovacs at a sick new-ish spot where the hosts/promoters bring in a lot of what I'm into. Saw Motor City Drum Ensemble there in June.

Happy Friday everyone. It's labor day weekend here in the US which means we have Monday off. I used to LIVE for these type of weekends (hence the profile name).

Plans for the weekend:
Friday night: ramen for the kids, wine for mommy and daddy, kids spotify playlist for dancing in the evening.
Saturday: possibly the beach but I'd be very happy with staying home and watching my phone.
Sunday: birthday/pool party at a friends place. LOTS of beer!
Monday: recovery and dreading to view my work inbox on Tuesday.

Fridays are no longer Fridays. I shall miss them forever.

My boy attended tryouts at a football club nearby a few weeks ago. They were so impressed that they put him on the U7 team instead of with the bambinis his age (5). Now we're in for Monday, Wednesday, Thursday practices 430-600 and matches home or away on Saturday mornings at 9. He played his first yesterday. Was a bit overwhelmed initially but persevered and scored three goals in the second half. Such an emotional roller coaster but one of the most amazing feelings and moments of my life. Little dude is a baller.

That sounds pretty awesome yo!!! I am hoping to put my oldest (9) into a volleyball trial/learning program. Trial meaning it's for kids who have never played volleyball and are learning the basics. She's more of artsy girl but we're trying different sporty things to see what she's into.

Good Lordy! Logged back in after so many years to find the tried and true still around! Hopped back and forth across the Atlantic and settled in India for now. Hope all's well with y'all!!

Camping with the family and some friends w/ kids as well this weekend. Well, it's more 'glamping' than camping. We're staying at a KOA campground. KOA has campgrounds all across the US and have trailer/RV, tent, and in our case, cabins. They have a pool, general store, playground and all sorts of stuff to keep the kids occupied. So it'll be a chance to kick back, let the kids run around, and drink beer (mostly me).
