From observing he seems to be rather impartial or not really care. One would think he would be reminiscing something more personal about his own feelings, but he remained reserved and didn't say much.

He ditched trance nearly two decades ago. He was only ever really involved in that scene for about half that time prior. He may have some appreciation for it helping him achieve superstar DJ status, but its clear he doesn't have much personal affection for it.

That video is from 2023 and I agree with him.
The main thing fueling any Trance resurgence will be the youth wanting to experience it.... and a simple classic set will not suffice... kids don't have the patience for the super long tracks/buildups. It would need an easier entry point that can lead to that.

This was from a few years ago, surprisingly one of the most hype moments of that night was during the drop in Silence ISOS Remix. but yeah, the youth needs to be more invested. they're more into dubstep, alcohol, ketamine, mixed in with some weird ADHD drugs. but good to see this nonetheless. lol @ "trance died in 2001"

Although he left the scene years ago, it still feels weird not to associate him with trance considering everything he did for the genre. Suburban Train still gives me chills to this day.

I agree, the trance that was known in its early early days died out somewhere around 1996 from what I've seen. The dutch took over in 1997 but I'd say it really died somewhere around 2004.
Personally for me I was really young at the time and was riding the wave in 2007. I'd say this era 2007 which I joined was still a decent wave compared to what's out today. When I joined the scene, Above & Beyond and Oceanlab were prominently at their peak, Armin was taking over with ARMADA, Ferry Corsten was releasing L.E.F., and there was still some 90s nostalgia being passed around. so I was a little lucky to get scraps of that.
If possible, I'd personally love to have a time machine and go to Germany during the Eye Q / Harthouse days in 1994 or something.

Not opinion’s matter this is, but reality objectiven. All pioneers in 1995 trance playing stopped. Sven Väth, Laurent Garnier, Marco Zaffarano, Billy Nasty, such and such. Then foolish Americans, like the BT, it seized and Dutch ones pre-shaped, which credible progressive fanatic saint System-J und saint Ishkur (who has british hatred bum boy fetish) truly confess not to wish, so constantly each other’s throats they grab, whereas this cursed nonsense they got into hat reason exactly Dutch accumulative structuring epic house with super saws swapped is from. I couldn't dispute anyone that said 1994 was peak trance, in my mind anyway. I've been digging the past few years and the out-come being that my favourite trance tracks now comprise of roughly that year and prior, especially the ambient infused trance tracks.
