Are people still putting out Mix Cds?

I was just listening to Sasha & Digweed Northern Exposure 2 West Coast Edition and it got me thinking. Is this medium dead now that no one puts out mixes anymore?

It's definitely a lost art. People share mixes online all the time and podcasts are great, but there's much more intentionality behind a good mix CD.

The physical aspect of a CD is something special as well.

There are still mix cds being released.

John Digweed is releasing a 4cd mix recorded from the Twilo reunion a few months ago. GU is still releasing mix CDs as well.

If you go on some label websites, they are still releasing CDs as well. Check out the Magik Music website. You will find some deals on there for some CDs you def missed out on.

to this day, i've been kicking myself in the ass because Yooshi was offering In House We Trust 2, 3 and 4 for $20 and i should have hopped on it when i first saw.

After 10 years, i bought a new car last June and it didn't come with a CD and its one of the things i hate most about new cars today. Kids today will never know what its like when you get that new CD, pop it in the CD player and drive around listening to it.

east coast > west coast, honestly I think one of the finest mixes ever.

I know this is lame, but anjunadeep/beats still put out proper cds, I dont listen to much of that stuff anymore, idk what I like anymore, but thats there.

I think I like 1980's japanese cds rn.

I see them sometimes included as bonus swag in Bandcamp purchases of artist or label collections. They're hardly at the level of 'artistic statement' sets of the concept's millennium heyday tho'.
