My question is not about songwriting but rather about mastering a mix.
I'm not sure how many of you have ever listened to the German CD series "Tunnel Trance Force" (TTF), but one thing that has always stood out for me in these CDs is how well they are mastered. The quality is so impeccable and crisp that you literally experience aural pleasure. I looked at the cover and it says that the CDs are mastered (at Sony, which releases them) by Sven Heise or (Heiße). This guy really knows what he's doing!
Do you know what I mean? And can you give me a few general pointers or directions, to achieve the same quality as TTF (and Dream Dance, etc.)? For example, do they emphasize the mid- and hi-frequencies?
