i think you will get more replies if you post this in the dj forum..as for myself my first TTs are Technics so i dont know how good stanton are but from what i've heard they are not too bad. Don't take my word for it though. My advice: Save and get TEchnics u wont regret unless u really wanna get some TTs right now.

Just be patient and save for the Technics. You'll be huch happier in the end. THe hollidays are almsot here. Ask everyone for cash. With that and holliday sales, you'll have them by the first of the new year.

Ok I don't get why you all say save and get the technics. Um that's like saying save up your ENTIRE life and buy a Ferrari when you don't really need a Ferrari and would be just as happy with a decent car to get you where you want to go. For me I was thinking of getting decent tables to start off with mainly because me dj'ing would be a HOBBY. I'm not going to blow $1300 and then some on a hobby, at least not at first right off the bat. I'll just end up getting a decent pair (if even those are too expensive I'll get a crap ass pair and then a decent mixer to start...then collect vinyl)

i got technics but i see nothing wrong with going for other brand name TTs. one thing to watch out for tho is that i've heard straight tone-arms do pretty bad damage on your vinyls. I believe the stanton str8s are used mostly by scratch djs cuz they rarely skip out of the groove (hence the damage).

Yeah theyre are plenty of brands out there that will last you for the hobby stage, but technics are the standard and probably a good point to start with if you got the cash. The main reason technics last is because they are Durable they will never quite on ya Heh. But id recomend moving this to propper forum...

Everyone say to get Technics because they are that GOOD. The cheaper decks will last you a while but they won't last forever like Techs. Also, Technics have great re-sell value. If you check on Ebay, used Technics still sell for a whole lot of money. So in case you regret in the future, you can always sell them.
