i got my djm on thursday, and although everything is grounded properly, there is a bass hum, especially on the right deck and is noticeable during the breaks. do you think this could be speaker feedback or something because i ain't no setup expert and impacts one will have on another, or if it is due to a loose wire or summat
cheers

Feedback is probably your needles.
1) Unplug all cables, plug them back.
2) Move speakers away from turntables. Possibly your speakers are too close to your decks. That happened to me with my old monitors.
3) Disconnect cartridges, clean out contacts and install them back.. try then. |

| i think ive sorted it, the speakers were too close, infact the right bass cone was touching the deck when the subs kicked in and effected both dex as deck-mixer-deck all touch, problem solved i think :) |

Is 2 feet too close?
[edit]
Here's how I have mine set up. I bet 10 bucks the electrical socket causes the interference I hear..

Yes !!!! 2 damm close !
the speaker headed right 2 the turntable.
The Feedback is humming every thing... try put the speakers on the floor or on a at least head them to any direction except the one it is now. |

In resoponse to Brian, the socket probably is causing the problem. Why dont you move the decks on the floor for testing purposes? see if the problem clears. Though, I dont think your speakers are too close,,, mine are way closer than that |

The speakers should be okay like that. If they are on a different support (i.e. speakers on the bench, decks on ? whatever their on) the visbrations will be limited and their not bad ass 400W speakers or anything, so you shouldn't have to worry about sound waves effecting the tt.
Just my opinion though. |
