When i try to play a movie file off the web it doesn't send it to Media player but yet trys to play it in IE....

is there anyway to change this?

Click the Media button on ur internet tool bar ;) Then on the left hand side of your screen near the bottom click Media Options, Settings, and then tick the option u need.

Or, failing that, the tedious and annoying way to do it would be to copy the URL shortcut, and then open it in media player seperately

Or if you already have a file with the same extension, right click select 'Open With...' then select the program you want it to open in.

Install a download manager like GetRight, FlashGet, etc - these programs will automatically intercept your click on a movie link and download it to your harddrive so u can play whenever you want. Plus you can do stuff like resuming downloads (which IE won't do).

Should be available from www.download.com - just do a quick search :)

the reason that it does this is probably that, sometime when you were trying to open an mpe or video file from the internet, IE asked you if you wanted to open it in IE or in your standard media player.
Now i dont know if its like this for all of you but my comp. is totally wacko and the two buttons to answer the above mentioned question says "cancel" and "ok" so i got quite confused but if its any help for some of you, click cancel if you want to open it in you standard mediaplayer, or click ok for IE!
