hi there

i used to be a pc dj, but i really wanna buy the real thing now. i definitely wanna buy cd decks cuz all me music is on cd/mp3.

my budget for the complete package (2 cd decks + mixer) is about £600 max.

i'm really thinking of getting the tascam cd-302's for £499 for a pair. its from www.htfr.co.uk (hard to find records).

i obviously live in the uk.

also, i've seen the behringer vmx-100 mixer for £69.

has anyone seen any of these products any cheaper elsewhere in the UK??

also, r there any better products i could consider in that price range. i'd ideally/definitely want the cd decks to be separate with large jog wheels, so that i get a feel for mixing. :-)

any suggesstions??

thanks

Ishy.

i would take a look at the pioneer cdj-100's if i was u ;)

i've had a look at them. they look interesting aswell, cuz they have 3 built-in effects, which is good for trance.

however, they dont have any looping function do they??
how many dj's actually use loops in trance mixes??

cheers

Im getting these decks, and the 2 channel tascam mixer very soon, like next week.

They are really good, and i get them half price :D

hey flystyler nice to hear from.

are u on about the tascam cd302's that ur getting. du think they'll be more functional for the future of my djing, than the pioneer cdj100's.

my mate has got the tascam's and i was really impressed with them.

i've seen the pair for £499 on hard to find records. do u know where i can get them any cheaper. i'm at uni so i need to get the price down as much as possible.

mail me if u want ([email protected])

cheers

one of the staff at a music shop demonstrated the numark axis-8 cd player. i was really impressed with its features, especially its built-in 12 effects. they were awesome for trance tunes.

so instead of the tascam cd-302's, i'm thinking of buying the axis-8 for £345 along with the cheaper axis-2 for £185, and a behringer vmx100 mixer for £69. that ends up being about £599.

what du think??? or would it be better to go for the tascam cd-302's?

One of the cool functions of the CDJ-100 is Master Tempo which can be turned on or off. You can adjust the tempo without any change in the pitch of the music, vocals or instruments.

This essentially gives it endless uses for accapellas as well as general use, as you can take very slow acapellas, double their speed, and the voice won't begin to sound like a chipmunk, it'll be exactly the same.

I'm not sure about looping though, check here for loads of info:

I will find out how much i can get them for, and get back to ya :D

And let you know how good they are, but they are really for me to just mess around with, not a serious DJ like some of these guys act like they are :p
