Ok a lot of super clubs hove the Rane MP2016 w/ the XP 2016 EQs.
Besides the Rotary knobs why is this such a popular model?
also has anyone ever used one...what is the best points vs. bad points.

it's steardy as hell
and the knobs just rock it
it's the mixer that never dies!
I used it a little but not enough to give you real review
but if you are considering buying it or have access to one I say : all go! |

i've played on it before in a live club setting and all i can say is the output is clean and very loud. a very powerful and sturdy mixer. it's a staple in the new york house scene as the rotary knobs give you full control over the mix. the knobs are pretty much level throughout which is great for volume control. normal mixer faders (the horizontal scratch types) have a curve once u go over the zero mark which gives you less control.
that being said, i still don't like them cuz it takes time to get used to it. also it's hard to use if you like making hard cuts or scratches since the distance from zero to full volume is so far. |

| I own this mixer and the EQ expander to go with it. I had my eye on it from the day I started spinning. It is definately a different world away from sliders and faders. It gives you the ability to really play with the mix. On top of the fact that its the prettiest mixer in the biz, it has a smooth, powerful sound and great range! Go get one! |
