hshaha this is hillarious.
perhapse the results were so skewed because a large number of american citizens are hicks (no offence to any US citizens, I know there are alot of highly educated people aswell)..
I read in an article once that less than 50% of the US population realized that the earth rotates completely around the sun in one year.. :haha:
I have come to the conclusion, not just about USA but everywhere, that a large portion of people, perhapse even the majority, are just plain stupid. |

| its true that most americans r dumb s when it comes to geography. even jay leno admited that when he was doin his jaywalking thing on his show. i was watching the show once and he asked one dude where is mexico and that dumb replied its above u.s. how in retarded can u get. |

what it boils down to is that 95% of the population of the world is stupid. Not ignorant or poorly educated, just plain old stupid. America just has 278 million of them which makes it a bit more pronounced.
cheers |

heh..Take at look at the Gross national Import and export of the world economies, (meaning how much each country sells and buys product)....The vatican is not even a country..lol
The only country that comes close to the GOP of America is china and/or Japan, and still America's Stock market and Import/Export figures almost double that of Japan and china.
The Vatican..lol |
you go lol at yourself ....so you canadians arent that smart are you?
the vatican is an enclave
en·clave - (nklv, n-) n.
A country or part of a country lying wholly within the boundaries of another.
A distinctly bounded area enclosed within a larger unit: ethnic enclaves in a large city.

lol @ ^^^
That's just like saying the Pacific isn't an ocean, it's a "body of water". Yes the Vatican is an enclave, but that doesn't prevent it from also being an independant state (ie. a country).
The best statistic for "The richest country in the world" would probably be the total GDP (Purchasing Power Parity) - as provided by someone previously. When you start talking about per-capita statistics you're delving into standard of living, in which case pure economic analysis of any kind doesn't cut it, cos you need to take into account stuff like crime rates, working hours, pollution etc... |

By the way here is the test I think the article was based on. IMHO anyone over 16 years of age, living in a developed country, and not mentally handicapped should be ashamed of themselves if they don't get 20/20:

it is indeed very sad that educated people don't have a 100 % score, I just took the test myself and it really is an easy test.
I was astonished that only 63 % of the American people knows where Russia is on the map, after so many years of Cold War.... |
