Here are my personal favorites..

Turntable: Technics SL-1200Mk3
Mixer: Pioneer DJM600
Headphones: IXOS Ministry of Sound DJ1001
Animalize
its go to be 1210's & DJM 500 (u don't need the effects unit on the DJM 600 really)

And in my opinion if u can't beatmatch with cheapo headphones then u ain't no dj

Technic 1200's!

Best mixer..well...that all depends...
South Trancer
numark 2002x <- also a good mixer for beginners

I would have to agree for newbies any low end numark mixer(1001,1002)is alright. For decks no match for the 1200's,even the one's that are used up.

For the high end the pioneer DM600 or DM500

peace.
skywarp
Pioneer mixers are overpriced toys at best ... if we're going to talk good equipment here then Allen & Heath, Rodec, and Behringer mixers should definitely be mentioned.
DJ Guangzhou
Turntable: Technics SL-1200Mk2s (Quartz Lock is rather useless on Mk3s)
Mixer: Pioneer DJM600 (!!!!!!!)
Headphones: Stanton DJ Pro 1000Mk2s
Darkevil
hmm, I'd say, Technic's 1200's, Vestax or Pioneer for Mixers and I agree with Skywarp.. Allen & Heath mixers are really good... Headphones I'd say would have to me Sony MDR-700's and Sennheiser hd-25's.
Max2LC
Best Mixer: Depends If your Mobile Or CLub Or WASUP..
Best Headphones: Sony MDRV-700
Best Decks: Tekniques...Don't go with Vestax I herd "Sasha" threw his VEstax Turntables in the pool...

Now..I heard that best mixer for beginners is Numark 2002X....
UHEM...i have that mixer..I think it's the gayest on the market ! MY fader is static, my channels are static, and some is wrong with the Balance (L&R).....after 3 month of using it.....

I agree with you bro. the low end numark mixers are the worst on the market. I've had a numark 1002 mixer for five months now, the crossfader is f*cked, the volume sliders are too stiff, the equalizers are pure junk, the kill buttons are another story. But i guess you can't accept much from a under 3 bill mixer.

peace
dave.

Allan and Heath Xzone 64 a wicked piece of kit!
