Review: GUY ORNADEL at Guvernment (pg. 2)

We (myself and Durafei) decided to head to Turbulence @ Cityplace Y2K and chill there before going to see Guy at the Guvernment. When we first entered Cityplace Y2K it seemed a little bit empty, but it didn’t bother me because Precursor was dropping some pretty amazing trance tunes :). From what I can recall he dropped Gouryella – Ligaya, Rank1 - Awakening, Fingers Burnt – For a devil (this tune was played while the main projector was showing images from the Love Parade, which added to the vibe ^_^). I believe that all the live sets were recorded, and the track lists will be available if the sets are released. After meeting some TAs (Maxtuh, DJ El Kay Dee, Desidel, and others), and after chilling to a great selection of tunes from Precursor and Mecha, we headed to the government to see the main attraction of the night, Guy Ornadel!
Maxtuh, Durafei, Steve, and myself didn’t have a problem getting in, and we were inside at around 12:00. Initially we went to the Acid lounge and stayed there for around 20 minutes, while listening to house music and just chilling. But Maxtuh and I were unable to contain our urge for trance, and we decided to head to the government and fulfill our thirsts for music. Mark Oliver was playing some dark progressive trance, and at times he dropped beautiful trance tunes like Airwave - Mysteries Of Life.
When Ornadel came on he played some dark progressive at first, but then he started playing trance. I think Guy played such tunes as Faithless – Insomnia (mix??), and Gouryella – Ligaya. Great to see folks from the US attending this event. Rubyriva was going crazy to Ornadel in the beginning of his set :). It was great to see Rubyriva bring so much energy to the dance floor ^_^! Ornadel’s set was filled with energy, and lacked melody in my humble opinion. When Ornadel finished playing at around 5:00, Mark Oliver came back on, and this time he started he set with really banging techno. Ornadel played a very energetic set, and he destroyed me with his beats. I had to leave at around 5:30 because I just couldn’t feel my legs. Durafei was still dancing his heart out, and he was really enjoying the vibe.
Overall, I really enjoyed this party. There was enough room to dance at the Guvernment. The overall atmosphere was great. I had a lot of fun at Ornadel :D! |

I am glad you enjoyed it but i lost track who i was dancing with after i started dancing with rubyriva and the gang she really rocked the floor. specially hansolo joining in the fun later on i had a ball. i left by 4:00 since i couldnt take anymore, had one too many drinks.:) |

| 10$ who recognizes track played at 3:57.. It had amazing melody but was really short(hm.. maybe short according to my time perception that night, which wasn't exactly great). I remember how I was going to the washroom during that track, but then ran back to dancefloor as soon as I heard it.. |

Could it be Lolo - Melody?
I had one of the best nights of all time seeing him at Aria on Friday night. Such and amazing set with various styles of trance.
Katana - Gemini followed by DJ Albert and Precision - Say Yes (Katana) the a couple songs later Tic Toc (Magik Muzik Mix). Damn I was going menatl the whole night. Later he played some harder stuff like Dito - Sky and Player One - Insomnia. And last but definily not least Tomcraft - Loneliness. OMG I died!!!

Does anyone know how to convert Ornadels set from godskitchen from his website into mp3 form? Its very similar to the one he spun here...
There is a link to a set to download... but its only part of the set... I WANT THE WHOLE THING DAMMIT |

I'm glad that you had a blast! :) I never buy any alchohol when I go to a club because I'm afraid to get a hangover on the dancefloor :). Btw, I've checked your site Trance 365 and it's really good! :) I'm going to download a few sets from your site :p. |

i a have removed the last four sets since i ran out of space. i have only the latest since i archive the remaining in order to keep up with space restrictions. |

First off i must say i love techno music (oh it I like mauro picotto and his only!)
I didnt think that i would like Guy because he doesnt play as hard. But i must say he did impress. I was told that he played a much harder set for Guv. Very nice!
A highlight would have to be a sample of Robbie Riviera's - Funk-A-Tron that made the night for me :) . there was also a song that had that same dark scratch as Joy Kitikonti's - Joyenergizer. Anyone remember.
As for me ya i had a good time. Did anyone see an oriental guy with a red Yankees hat with a white shirt putting on amazing glowstick shows for 20-30 people at a time HE WAS SICK! there was another one with no shirt on he was also incredable. i got his name but i forget after 20 seconds.
oh ya and a girl tried to kill me. she wanted to try something on me. she sat on my neck pulled my arms in and covered my mouth i blacked out for a few seconds it was so ing crazy. I didnt expect that. i didnt know if i should have killed her or thanked her. i think i suffered some kinda brain damage! Some brazilian girl, again she told me her name but this time i have a reason NO BLOOD FLOW TO MY BRAIN!
i was the guy with the black sweater. I was there with my buddies Dom(OrangeMega) and Tony. If u remember, then write, cause i sure the don't!

Dom - once again another crazy night for the both of us this time it was caryn providing the stupid humour and not us.
Tony - how u went to work i still dont know. But that was an intense night
Caryn - caryn u may have to be rushed to poison control for e-coli poisoning. hehehehe (i found more this morning!). And for all of those people that dont know caryn has the feet of a goodess!
Ilyia - Still rocking. I may have to make a suprise appearance to talla (i cant make u have an ok night - u have to have a ed-up-trippy-insane-tense night)
HanSolo - Many thanx for all the hook ups last night. U started my night off on the right foot getting us in early. Good crazy energy! and dante's kicks ass i regret giving up the pizza so easily to caryn :(
Nat - u werent there but thanx for the ministry cd. I love the 28 min mark nice chill out. puts me in a zone like no other. And of course for liking mauro on the same level that i do. Get well soon
