I will admit never to buy CD's at all. But when albums come out, which I really like, I'll do buy them just to be sure I have make a class rip.

Actually this is a very valid point

I hate how there is no constant standard with rips

my songs vary in sound loudness and quality
and are all 192bit

Well, for or those who are complaining about how mp3s are encoded at different volume levels, try using the Audiostocker plugin for Winamp.
This plugin is absolutely essential and it works so well for me that al my mp3s now play at the same volume level.

PM me if you want this plugin.
arctic
the guy who said it was related to the lame encoder

YOU ARE SPOT ON

If you wan't a good rip, you need to use a program that uses the latest LAME encoder. (3.92, or the 3.93 alpha), the LAME is based on the BLADE ancoder, so that isn't bad either. A lot of rippers use the Xing encoder, which is fast, but produces sound.

if you wan't a good program to rip with (this one also tells you what encoder/codec was used to rip any mp3) try this: DBPoweramp

EAC: exactaudiocopy.de is also fantastic

:p
TigerClaw
You can also try RazorLame, One of the best mp3 encoders around, I use it to encode my recordings of the global dj broadcast.

Yeah I've noticed a few bad quality rips as well:

DJ Fire - Jetlag
Jam X & De Leon - Louder Softer (hennes & cold remix) <---- goes ty in the breakdown
Veit - Sky (magik muzik remix)
Accadia - Blind Vision (accadia club mix)

Yeah i have noticed some rather ty quality myself and i feel i have the right to bitch all i want A because i have the ing vinyls but i dont happen to have a portable vinyl player (that would be a damn funny site though lolz) to listen to when im out walking or messing around.
and B becuase i used to scan for pubstros and dumpstros for ripping groups so i was part of em hence i can rail on em lolz.
But the thing that bugs me more than bad quality is lack of mp3s in general i find so many tracks which i want to hear fully and can never find the Mp3 hell i own some vinyls that i cant find the MP3s for.
And cd's/mp3s are a lil more convinient than vinyls if your just listening to em cuz you dont have to get up n change the track every 7 - 10 minutes lolz

ROTFL!I was kinda wondering how funny would it be if I had a Technics turntable @ my car instead of a cd player. Can you imagine that?

why so much people are against mp3?
mp3 is fantastic! with him, I discovered the best music style ever : TRANCE. I'm sure it's the cas to all of you guys! mp3 is great to discover new artists and after, if u like the track, you can buy it!

where is the problem? MP3 is not illegal!

I often find it frustrating when I have to download two or three versions of a track in order to find a decent rip. While I appreciate the efforts of individuals and ripping groups, it would be good if dodgy quality rips could be banished as a thing of the past. :)

Here's hoping that the rip of Junkie XL - Breezer, my most hotly anticipated track of the year, will be decent :nervous:
arctic
TranceRulezz, no one is against "mp3", we just don't like bad rip's  , and crap encoders like Xing :whip:
there are other good formats out there, eg: Mp3PRO, MPC, and Ogg Vorbis (which could overtake mp3 if it keeps improving at the rate it is)
