** My Cool idea!

I hate using my computer to listen to mp3s because we only have one computer in our house and it's shared. When I get the chance to go on it I am always told to turn my music down. I would love to have my own PC in my room then I could turn my music up as loud as I like and I wouldn't have to bother with burning audio cds or swapping them in my cd player as well as having unlimited music. I can't afford my own PC and my parents have got something against it anyhow...
this is when I had an idea. If I brought a MP3 discman and plugged it into some speakers and plugged the discman into an socket adapter I would be able to make cds with 60+ songs on without having to spend a lot of money on a PC or a mp3 compatable hi-fi.
I tested my cd discman against my pc speakers and the volume is fine. So basically I need to get a disman that has an adapter socket and some speakers that will plug into the mains otherwise the sound volume will be really low.
This is the discman I am planning to buy:

Iam not sure what speakers I want to get get but I'm prolly gonna go for creative labs as they seem to be the best value for money..
If you have any advice or any other recomendations let me know :) |

ive got the sony SRS Z-500s for my portable audio (cd walkman & md walkman), they absolutely kick major ass, they can only be used on mains, they r too heavy for batteries :)
they make more noise than ur regular portable cdrecorder, i bet they even outblast 3 out of 4 micro hifi sets :)
unfortunally, sony doesnt make em no more, so ull have a hard time finding them... |

| Get some speaker cable and just run the sound up to your room from the PC. Cheaper. Then you just set it to play and somebody else can around on the machine while you listen. |

Yes but then the computer has to be on and the person using can't use sound.
I would stick with the portable player. |
