hi everyone, whaussp ???

listen up, i've been mixing today in my room, and i've tried to figure out a way i can mix two tracks without losing energy.
i will explain a bit...
i have one track playing, say deep amok - shades, then i want to mix into moshic - indian moon, i cue indian moon in my headphones, find the correct pitch, and when the moments comes start rising the volumes up. now that's the problematic time, track two can be heard with track 1, now when there is a bass dropping on track 1, how can i add the bass from track 2 without making it sound weak, know what i'm talking about ??? it is like i lose some energy, it sound very odd.
i don't know what to do ???
i've tried raising track 2 bass something like 8/16 beats before the bass drop, but the bass combining created a loud fat sound, which overload the mixer...
what to do ??
thank you

learn your records inside out, and learn to time your 'base drops' better. Also, be creative with the EQ.

yea, what he said
also, when i'm at the peak of my set and the energy is going
i like to start the incoming track like right after the buildup
as soon as the bass beatr starts again, i release the cue track and start mixing
then by the time the energy is dieing on track A, the energy is starting to pick up on track B
so basically at the start of my sets i play more of the tracks, but as i build and get towards my peak, i play less and less of the record

I do the same thing as DJ_Shockwav... but I realease the record after the build up..but I don't start mixing until @ least 64 beats (depending on the record) after the build up...try turning the track your playing bass down to 10 or 11 o clock...then gradually bring your cued track....
montie
i do the same thing as DJ shockwave. I throw in the new record after the beat kicks in after the climix of the playing record. I turn the lows mids and highs on the next track to 25%, and slowly bring up the volume. as i bring up the volume, i slowly turn down the bass on the playing track. once i get the volume on the new track at teh same level as the playing track both tracks have their volume at 25%. I then start bringing up the bass on the new track as i bring down the volume of the playing track. as this is happening, and whenever i hit the end of a measure, i throw up the highs and the mids some more.
This isnt the way i do it all the time, but its the general way.
it all depends on the way its sounding as crossfade the eqs.
you definatly wanna play around with the eqs as your mixing. have fun with it. you'll eventually develop some system.

Wow my first post after what seems like ages... but anyway i do the same thing that shockwave does... and it wrks great... i like to mix less and less of tracks as the energy builds... it works GREEAT! lol...it gets you more pumped also... cuz u have to find beats faster and cue faster.... itz just an amazing feeling!
DJ_Shockwav
heh, i was playing last night and i apparently gave one girl an orgasm
lol
she was like, your evergy just builded and builded, and that last track you played just set me off
it was like foreplay!
